Dakota Men's and Women's track and field teams completed yesterday at the Saginaw Valley Invitational. The teams earned a combined 10 medals with multiple personal records.
The Men’s team was led by seniors Carter Fox and Simon Davis running the 3200m Run in 9:47 and 9:48, Juniors Tyler Torey threw 48 feet 6.75 inches in the shot put Chris Dotson Jumping 5 feet 9 inches in the High jump. Evan combs also ran an incredible 400m dash to win the event.
Standout performances on the women’s team included a 1st place finish for senior Jayden Harberts in the 3200 meter Run with a time of 10:38. Seniors Mariah Belmont running 5 min 18 sec in the 1600m Run, Sienna Avery placing 5th in the pole vault, with a vault of 8 feet. Freshman Casey Cojocar leaped 4’8” in the High jump to place 6th and Sydney Timpa long jumped 16 feet and finished 7th overall.
