Head Coach
Mike Timpa (Warren Woods Tower class of 1992)
I am the head coach of the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams. In the 1997 and 1998 seasons I was an assistant coach, under Mike Fras. In 1999 I took over the program as head coach, making this my 26th year in that role and 28th year in total. For the 2023 season, I am coaching the Men's & Women's High Jumpers, Long Jumpers and assisting with the sprinters.
I also coach Cross Country and JV Girl's Basketball at Dakota.

Throws Coach
Art Droski (Grand Rapids Union class of 1988)
Started coaching Track & Field at Dakota in 2003. Coaches the Throwers and is instrumental in cookouts at invitationals. This is his 22nd year at Dakota. He also coaches 8th Grade Football and Boy's 8th Grade Basketball at Seneca.

Distance Coach
Ed Roginski (Dakota class of 2007)
Coaches the Men's Distance and Middle Distance Runners. Coach Roginski is an expert at distance relay exchanges and is also an amateur electrician. Ran for the MSU club team. This is Coach Roginski's 13th year on Staff. Started coaching at Dakota in 2012.

Sprints COach
Richard Pojeta (Lansing Waverly class of 1993)
Coached sprints and relays at Waverly in 2000 and Grosse Pointe North in 2014.
Also teaches Conceptual Physics and Forensics at Dakota's 10-12 building.
Richard was an all-city sprinter in high school as well as discus thrower. He coached football and track at Waverly for 5 years and spent 10 years as a strength and conditioning specialist before becoming a teacher. This is Richard’s 10th year coaching at Dakota, after spending the previous year teaching at Regina and coaching sprinters at Grosse Pointe North. He will coach the sprinters and relays. He is also a LEGO fanatic. Wonder when he will build a LEGO replica of our Track and Field Stadium?
Hurdles /vault /Jumps Coach
Tanisha Ciaravino (Johnson) (Dakota class of 2006)
4th year coaching at Dakota. Coach Ciaravino will work with the hurdlers, Long Jumpers and Pole vaulters as she is an expert in Track and Field. She is our school record holder in the Long Jump! Coach Tanisha also coached at Oakland University, IPFW, Central Michigan (Volunteer Assistant) and Bloomington HS North.

Assistant Distance Coach
Nick Bryant (Dakota class of 2021)
3rd year Coaching Track and Field at Dakota. Coach Nick also coaches Cross Country at Dakota.
He is a Dakota XC and TF alumni. He is our team statistician!

Administrative Assitant Coach

2nd year Officially Coaching Track and Field at Dakota but has assisted for the past 28 years in a variety of capacities. "Coach Missy" also coaches Cross Country at Dakota. She is a WWT TF alumni. She is our team PT/Mom. Coach Missy also does the results and medals at the home meets, in addition to any task that the team needs.
